The ARCA Sports Clips/VFW 200 race at Darlington Raceway started with Jeffery “North Dakota” Merck Driver of the #6 ND Car capturing the pole and recording the fastest lap of the race. Mike Schrader #4 Busch Beer and John Hastings gained 5 spots for the most positions gained bonus. The race produced many close battles for position through the field with many position changes. Jeffery “North Dakota” Merck led the most laps with 72, running out of fuel on the last lap allowing Mike Schrader to pick up the win. This week the drivers displayed good communication, resulting in 1 caution with 7 lead changes as there were no disqualifications with 3 disconnect in a 14 car field ending with Mike Schrader capturing his 1st win of the season with Bruce Pearson finishing 2nd, Steven Thomson Driver of the #67 RideTV Racing Camry 3rd and Jeffery Merck in 4th
This week the ARCA Series moves to the Kroger 200 at Martinsville Speedway with the current points leader Mike Schrader looking for ways to maintain his lead in the series. The question is … can he hold off the charging Old Bastards?
