The Old Bastard Xfinity 40 Week Series Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway started with Mike Schrader on the pole and setting the fastest lap of the race. Brian Glass gained 6 spots for the most positions gained bonus. The race produced many close battles for position through the field with many position changes. Kent “Big Time” Connolly led the most laps with 95, going on to take the win. This week the drivers showed good race-craft, which resulted in no cautions with 4 lead changes and there were no disqualifications and 1 disconnect in a 12 car field The race ended with Kent Connolly capturing his 1st win of the season, Mike Schrader taking 2nd, Joel Kilburn in 3rd and Bobby McCormick nabbing 4th.
This week the Xfinity Series moves to the Toyota Care 250 at Richmond Raceway with the current points leader Kent “Big Time” Connolly looking to maintain the lead in the series. The question is … can he hold off the charging Old Bastards?
We shall see when the green flag drops at 11:40 am Eastern time.
In the Xfinity 40 Week Series points championship Mike Schrader in 2nd, Bruce Pearson 3rd Joel Kilburn in 4th and Jimmy Todd in 5th.
The Richmond race will be intense, and expect to see close battles all over the track.
