The Truck race at Darlington Raceway started with Steven Thomson Driver of the #67 Ride TV Tundra capturing the pole and setting the fastest lap of the race. John Hastings gained 10 spots for the most positions gained bonus. The race produced many close battles for position through the field with many position changes. Steven Thomson completely dominated the race by leading 96 laps, going on to capture the win. This week the drivers showed good communication, which resulted in 1 caution with 3 lead changes and there were no disqualifications and 5 disconnects in a 20 truck field. The race ended with Steven Thomson capturing his 1st win of the season with Mike Schrader finishing 2nd, John Hastings nabbing 3rd and Niels Clyde finishing 4th.
This week the Truck Series moves to a night race for the Myrtle Beach 250 at Myrtle Beach Speedway with the current points leader Steven Thomson looking to maintain the lead in the series. The question is … can he hold off the charging Old Bastards?
We shall see when the green flag drops at 9:05 pm Eastern time.
In the Truck Series points championship Mike Schrader is 2nd, John Hastings 3rd, Niels Clyde 4th and Jeffery Merck in 5th.
The Myrtle Beach race will be intense, and expect to see close battles all over the track.
