The ARCA Zippo 200 @ the Glen race at Watkins Glen – Boot started with Niels Clyde capturing the pole and recording the fastest lap of the race. Gary Corbett, Dave Lesure and Bruce Pearson gained 5 spots for the most positions gained bonus. The race produced many close battles for position through the field with many position changes. Steven Thomson dominated the race by leading the most laps with 21, going on to capture the win in the #67 Ride TV Camry. This week the drivers displayed good communication, resulting in no cautions with 3 lead changes as there were no disqualifications with 5 disconnect in a 16 car field ending with Steven Thomson capturing his 2nd win of the season with Niels Clyde finishing 2nd, Mike Schrader 3rd and Kim Quick in 4th
This week the ARCA Series is off the next 2 weeks, moves to the Sports Clips/VFW 200 at Darlington Raceway in 3 weeks with the current points leader Steven Thomson looking for ways to maintain his lead in the series. The question is … can he hold off the charging Old Bastards?
We shall see when the green flag drops at 9:05 pm Eastern time. In the ARCA Series points championship Mike Schrader in 2nd, Niels Clyde 3rd, Dode Hoskins 4th and Jon Waters in 5th.
The Darlington race will be intense, and expect to see close battles all over the track.
