The OBRL Go Creative TV Truck Series Sparks Energy 300 at Talladega SuperSpeedway started with Matt Switzer capturing the pole and Jeff Gilmore setting the fastest lap of the race. David Desjardins gained 35 spots for the most positions gained bonus. The race produced many close battles for position through the field with many position changes. Patrick Skahill led the most laps with 22, with Vernon Margheim going on to capture the win. This week the drivers showed good race-craft, which resulted in 3 cautions with 11 lead changes and there were 2 disqualifications and 9 disconnects in a 43 truck field. The race ended with Vernon Margheim capturing his 1st win of the season with Steve McKlin finishing 2nd, Gabriel Esek nabbing 3rd and Jeff Gilmore finishing 4th.
This week the OBRL Go Creative TV Truck Series moves to the VFW Sports Clips/Hero 200 race at Darlington Raceway with the current points leader Steve McKlin looking to maintain the lead in the series. The question is … can he hold off the charging Old Bastards?
We shall see when the green flag drops at 9:05 pm Eastern time.
