The OBRL 12 Week Kim Bowl Performance Cup Series Food City 500 race at Bristol Motor Speedway started with Mike Schrader capturing the pole and Joel Kilburn recording the fastest lap of the race. Matt Switzer gained 17 spots for the most positions gained bonus. The race produced many close battles for position through the field with many position changes. Joel Kilburn led the most laps with 129, going on to take the win. This week the drivers showed good race-craft, which resulted in 7 cautions with 12 lead changes and there were 5 disqualifications with 4 disconnects in a 25 car field ending with Joel Kilburn capturing his 1st win of the season with Matt Switzer finishing 2nd, Mike Schrader 3rd and * capturing 4th.
This week the OBRL 12 Week Kim Bowl Cup Series moves to the Bojangles Southern 500 race at Darlington Raceway with the current playoff leader Joel Kilburn looking for ways to maintain his lead in the Series. The question is … can he hold off the charging Old Bastards?
We shall see when the green flag drops at 11:40 am Eastern time.
In the OBRL 12 Week Kim Bowl Cup Series points championship, Brian Glass in 2nd, John Hastings 3rd, Jim Westerfield in 4th and Ed Adams in 5th.
The Darlington race will be intense, and expect to see close battles all over the track.
