The ARCA Series Alpha Energy 250 night race at Gateway Motorsports Park started with Marc Cohn capturing the pole and recording the fastest lap of the race. Eddie Jones gained 8 spots for the most positions gained bonus. The race produced many close battles for position through the field with many position changes. Mike Schrader led the most laps with 48, with Marc Cohn CRASHING the leader of the race on lap 4, coming from the back of the field and then dominating the 8th race of the season, going on take the win. This week the drivers displayed good race-craft, resulting in 4 cautions with 14 lead change as there were no disqualifications with 4 disconnects in a 18 car field ending with Marc Cohn capturing his 6th win of the season with Eddie Jones lacking enough sugar to win finished 2nd, Joel Kilburn 3rd and Chris Monroe in 4th
This week the ARCA Series moves to the Pocono Green 250 race at Pocono Raceway with the current points leader Marc Cohn looking for ways to maintain his lead in the series. The question is … can he hold off the charging Old Bastards?
We shall see when the green flag drops at 9:05 pm Eastern time. In the ARCA Series points championship Eddie Jones in 2nd, Bruce Pearson 3rd, Mike Schrader 4th and Thomas Allmon in 5th.
The Pocono race will be intense, and expect to see close battles all over the track.
