The Truck Series Powershares 300 race at Daytona Int’l Speedway started with Rob Connor capturing the pole and Michael Hensley setting the fastest lap of the race. Brian Glass gained 23 spots for the most positions gained bonus. The race produced many close battles for position through the field with many position changes. Bill Benedict led the most laps with 13, with Thomas Ogle going on to capture the win. This week the drivers showed good race-craft, which resulted in 2 cautions with 21 lead changes and there was 5 disqualifications and 7 disconnects in a 26 truck field. The race ended with Thomas Ogle capturing his 2nd win of the season with Brian Glass finishing 2nd, Sean Beyer nabbing 3rd and Billy Wise finishing 4th.
This week the Truck Series moves to the Buckle Up Mobile 225 night race at Kentucky Speedway with the current points leader Brian Glass looking to maintain the lead in the series. The question is … can he hold off the charging Old Bastards?
We shall see when the green flag drops at 9:05 pm Eastern time.
In the Truck Series points championship Dwayne McArthur #67 RideTV is 2nd, Mike Schrader 3rd, Bill Keener #00 UPS Toyotar 4th and Robert Vining in 5th.
The Kentucky race will be intense, and expect to see close battles all over the track.
