The Monster Cup Series Iowa Corn 300 late afternoon race at Iowa Speedway started with Matthew Gibbs capturing the pole and Patrick Milligan recording the fastest lap of the race. Bobby McCormick gained 10 spots for the most positions gained bonus. The race produced many close battles for position through the field with many position changes. Patrick Milligan dominated the race by leading 172 laps, with Kent “Big Time” Connolly Driving the #12 capturing the win on the last lap. This week the drivers displayed good communication, which resulted in 1 caution with 7 lead changes and there were no disqualification with 2 disconnects in a 14 car field ending with Kent Connolly capturing his 1st win in the series with Mike Schrader finishing 2nd, Patrick Milligan 3rd and Bobby McCormick capturing 4th.

This week the Cup Series moves to the Quicken Loans 400 race at Michigan Int’l Speedway with the current points leader Mike Schrader Driver of the #4 Busch Beer Sponsored Ford Fusion looking to find ways to maintain the lead in the series. The question is … can he hold off the charging Old Bastards?

In the Cup Series point championship, Steven Thomson #67 Ride TV Camry in 2nd, Bobby McCormick 3rd and John Hastings 4th and Kenney Kulikowski in 5th place.
