The Monster Cup Series Bo Jangles Southern 500 race at Darlington Raceway started with Mike Schrader capturing the pole and recording the fastest lap of the race. John Hastings gained 8 spots for the most positions gained bonus. The race produced many close battles for position through the field with many position changes. Steven Thomson Driver of the #67 Ride TV Camry led the most laps with 60. The race ended with Steven Thomson capturing the win. This week the drivers displayed good communication, which resulted in 2 cautions with 3 lead changes and there was 1 disqualification along with 3 disconnects in a 12 car field ending with Steven Thomson capturing his 1st win of the season with Kenney Kulikowski finishing 2nd, John Hastings 3rd and Dode Hoskins capturing 4th.
This week the Cup Series moves to a Late afternoon race for the AAA Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway with the current points leader Steven Thomson looking to find ways to maintain the lead in the series. The question is … can he hold off the charging Old Bastards?
