The Monster Cup Series Toyota Owners 400 night race at Richmond Int’l Raceway started with Mike Schrader Driver of the #4 Busch Beer Sponsored Ford Fusion capturing the pole and Jeffery Merck recording the fastest lap of the race. John Hastings and Steven Thomson gained 2 spots for the most positions gained bonus. The race produced many close battles for position through the field with many position changes. Mike Schrader dominated the race by leading 103 laps, going on to capture the win. This week the drivers displayed good communication, which resulted in no cautions with 5 lead changes and there were no disqualification with 1 disconnect in a 9 car field ending with Mike Schrader capturing his 1st win in the series with Jeffery Merck finishing 2nd, Steven Thomson #67 Ride TV Camry 3rd and Patrick Milligan capturing 4th.
This week the Cup Series moves to the AAA Drive for Autism 400 race at Dover Int’l Speedway with the current points leader Steven Thomson #67 Ride TV Camry looking to find ways to maintain the lead in the series. The question is … can he hold off the charging Old Bastards?
