The 40 Week Monster Cup Series Go Bowling 400 for a night race at Kansas Speedway started with Sam Maxwell capturing the pole and Patrick Milligan recording the fastest lap of the race. Sean Beyer gained 11 spots for the most positions gained bonus. The race produced many close battles for position through the field with many position changes. Sam Maxwell led the most laps with 92, going on to take the win. This week the drivers showed good race-craft, which resulted in 1 caution with 8 lead changes and there were no disqualifications with 1 disconnect in a 15 car field ending with Sam Maxwell capturing his 6th win of the season & 4th in a row with Mike Franklin finishing 2nd, Patrick Milligan 3rd and Sean Beyer capturing 4th.
This week the Monster Cup Series will be off next week with the current points leader Sam Maxwell looking to find ways to maintain the lead in the series. The question is … can he hold off the charging Old Bastards?
We shall see when the green flag drops at 11:40 am Eastern time.
In the Cup Series point championship, Mike Schrader in 2nd, Kenny Kulikowski 3rd and Joel Kilburn 4th and Patrick Milligan 5th place.
The Watkins Glen race will be intense, and expect to see close battles all over the track.
