The Keener Farms Truck Series Hisense 300 race at Charlotte Motor Speedway started with Tim Matthews capturing the pole and Bruce Pearson setting the fastest lap of the race. Michael Everhart gained 27 spots for the most positions gained bonus. The race produced many close battles for position through the field with many position changes. Brad Bothwell led the most laps with 63, with Mike Schrader going on to capture the win by fuel strategy. This week the drivers showed good race-craft, which resulted in 2 cautions with 10 lead changes and there were no disqualifications and 8 disconnects in a 43 truck field. The race ended with Mike Schrader capturing his 1st win of the season with Thomas Allmon finishing 2nd, Brad Bothwell nabbing 3rd and Joel Kilburn finishing 4th.
This week the Keener Farms Truck Series moves to the US Cellular 250 race at Iowa Speedway with the current points leader Chris Monroe looking to maintain the lead in the series.
The question is … can he hold off the charging Old Bastards?
We shall see when the green flag drops at 9:05 pm Eastern time.
In the Truck Series points championship Dwayne McArthur is 2nd, Mike Schrader 3rd, Thomas Ogle 4th and Vernon Margheim in 5th.
The Iowa race will be intense, and expect to see close battles all over the track.
