The Xfinity 40 Week Series Hisense 300 night race at Charlotte Motor Speedway started with Mike Schrader on the pole and Kent “Big Time” Connolly setting the fastest lap of the race. Steven Mattocks gained 13 spots for the most positions gained bonus. The race produced many close battles for position through the field with many position changes. Steven Thomson Driver of the #67 Ride TV Camry led the most laps with 52, going on to take the win. Mike Schrader Driver of the #4 Mustang made sure that Kent “Big Time” Connolly would not win his 5th race in a row. This week the drivers showed good race-craft (except for the #4), which resulted in 3 cautions with 12 lead changes and there were 2 disqualifications and 7 disconnects in a 18 car field The race ended with Steven Thomson capturing his 2nd win of the season, with Steven Mattocks taking 2nd, Eddie Jones in 3rd and Dan Berghoff nabbing 4th.

This week the Xfinity Series moves to the Pocono Green 250 race at Pocono Raceway with the current points leader Kent “Big Time” Connolly looking to maintain the lead in the series. The question is … can he hold off the charging Old Bastards?

We shall see when the green flag drops at 11:40 am Eastern time.

In the Xfinity 40 Week Series points championship Mike Schrader in 2nd, Brian Glass 3rd Jimmy Todd in 4th and Joel Kilburn in 5th.

The Pocono race will be intense, and expect to see close battles all over the track.
