The 40 Week Monster Cup Series Go Bowling at the Glen race at Watkins Glen Int’l – Cup Circuit started with Gary Griffith capturing the pole and Joel “The Clinician” Kilburn recording the fastest lap of the race. Peter Norquay gained 8 spots for the most positions gained bonus. The race produced many close battles for position through the field with many position changes. Joel “The Clinician” Kilburn #40 Coors Light Sponsored Sled led the most laps with 42, going on to take the win. In a post race interview with Joel “The Clinician” Kilburn, he was quoted in saying “I put on a Clinic Today at Watkins Glen, those fools should learn from me and stay hell out of my way, wait till next week at Michigan, you should reserve a spot in Next Weeks Clinic Today!” This week the drivers showed good race-craft, which resulted in no cautions with 3 lead changes and there was no disqualifications with 1 disconnect in a 14 car field ending with Joel “The Clinician” Kilburn capturing his 4th win of the season with Mike Franklin finishing over 6 seconds back for 2nd, Niels Clyde 3rd and Kenney Kulikowski capturing 4th.

This week the Monster Cup Series moves to the Pure Michigan 400 race at Michigan Int’l Speedway with the current points leader Mike Schrader looking to find ways to maintain the lead in the series. The question is … can he hold off the charging Old Bastards?

We shall see when the green flag drops at 11:40 am Eastern time.

In the Cup Series point championship, Joel “The Clinician” Kilburn in 2nd, Mike Franklin 3rd and Brian Glass 4th and Kenny Kulikowski 5th place.

The Michigan race will be intense, and expect to see close battles all over the track.
