The 40 Week Monster Cup Series Camping World 500k race at Phoenix Int’l Raceway started with Matthew Gibbs capturing the pole and Kenney Kulikowski recording the fastest lap of the race. Dan DeNayer & Ed Carpenter Jr. gained 10 spots for the most positions gained bonus. The race produced many close battles for position through the field with many position changes. Kenney Kulikowski led the most laps with 95, with Dan DeNayer Driver of the #30 Textron Aviation Chevy going on to take the win. This week the drivers displayed good communication, which resulted in 9 cautions with 1 lead change and there were 3 disqualifications with 8 disconnects in a 28 car field ending with Dan DeNayer capturing his 1st win of the season with Kenney Kulikowski finishing 2nd, Matthew Gibbs 3rd and Joel Kilburn capturing 4th.
This week the Monster Cup Series goes to the Auto Club 400 race at Auto Club Speedway with the current points leader Kenney Kulikowski looking to find ways to maintain the lead in the series. The question is … can he hold off the charging Old Bastards?
