The Ol’ Bastard Xfinity 40 Week Series Spark Energy 300 at Talladega SuperSpeedway started with Reggie Spalding on the pole and Kent “Big Time” Connolly setting the fastest lap of the race. Kent “Big Time” Connolly gained 15 spots for the most positions gained bonus. The race produced many close battles for position through the field with many position changes. Reggie Spalding led the most laps with 20, with Kent Connolly going on to take the win. This week the drivers showed good race-craft, which resulted in 1 caution with 14 lead changes and there were no disqualifications and 3 disconnects in a 21 car field The race ended with Kent Connolly capturing his 3rd win in a row and 3rd of the season, with Dakota Pischke taking 2nd, Ted Quincel in 3rd and Jimmy Todd nabbing 4th.

This week the Xfinity Series moves to the OneMain Financial 200 at Dover Int’l Speedway with the current points leader Kent “Big Time” Connolly looking to maintain the lead in the series. The question is … can he hold off the charging Old Bastards?

We shall see when the green flag drops at 11:40 am Eastern time.

In the Xfinity 40 Week Series points championship Mike Schrader in 2nd, Jimmy “Lil Time” Todd 3rd Brian Glass in 4th and Bruce Pearson in 5th.

The Dover race will be intense, and expect to see close battles all over the track.
