The Old Bastards ARCA Menards 250 at Michigan Int’l Speedway started with Tim Matthews capturing the pole and recording the fastest lap of the race. John Hastings gained 16 spots for the most positions gained bonus. The race produced many close battles for position through the field with many position changes. Tim Matthews dominated the race by leading 70 laps, going on take the win. This week the drivers displayed good race-craft, resulting in no cautions with 4 lead changes as there was no disqualifications with 4 disconnects in a 27 car field ending with Tim Matthews capturing his 1st win of the season with Dan DeNayer finishing 2nd, Steven Thomson Driver of the #67 Ride TV Camry 3rd and Brian Glass in 4th
This week the ARCA Series moves to the DC Solar 200 at Phoenix Int’l Raceway with the current points leader Niels Clyde looking for ways to maintain his lead in the series. The question is … can he hold off the charging Old Bastards?
We shall see when the green flag drops at 9:05 pm Eastern time. In the ARCA Series points championship Dode Hoskins in 2nd, Marc Cohn 3rd, Mike Schrader 4th and Ken Huff in 5th.
The Phoenix race will be intense, and expect to see close battles all over the track.
